IT Project Manager

NTG
Closed recruitment
City Hvidovre
Region Hovedstaden
Organisation NTG

In the role of IT Project Manager, you will have overall project responsibility at NTG and act as the driving force behind the company’s exciting IT projects, though without the technical IT responsibility. You will have an important role in which you must master keeping the overview and ensuring that projects proceed as they should. If that is not the case, you must also ensure that the project in question gets back on track and runs smoothly again.

NTG works on many projects at the same time, which are more or less related to one another, creating complexity. You must therefore be capable — and actually enjoy — juggling many balls in the air and working in such an environment.

The projects vary, as does their duration. They typically run for about six months and most often involve the acquisition of new companies, either in existing or new countries. NTG continues to grow significantly and is continually establishing further partnerships. As a result, even more acquisitions are underway, creating a fast pace and high spirits in the office.

When companies are acquired, as Project Manager you will, among other things, assess what is feasible from an IT perspective and what challenges exist, as well as familiarize yourself with the given country’s requirements in this area. In an international environment, you will communicate and share knowledge with the company owners, acting as a link between them and NTG. You must understand cultural differences and secure local support within the company, as well as ensure IT resources for the project.

You will carry out a certain amount of groundwork and ensure a good rollout at the companies, including migrating them onto NTG’s IT systems, updating their software, relocating data centers, securing scanning systems, and more. This may involve up to 4 travel days per month, though there can also be periods without travel. Travel will be within Europe, so it is often possible to travel out and back on the same day.

At the same time, you will be responsible for regularly holding follow-up meetings on individual projects, ensuring that all parties involved are satisfied and, not least, that the timeline is kept.

The Project Manager role is a newly created position, established as NTG has grown and consequently needs more structure around its projects. You will work in an agile way and help define the direction for how NTG runs projects, in terms of processes, procedures, and project tools. You will help lay the foundation for what will, in the future, be a Project Management department with, for example, junior project managers.

As a person, you must therefore enjoy shaping the framework for NTG’s projects and be able to work independently and proactively. You must thrive in a role that involves collaborating with many people and adapting your communication to each recipient. You must also be good at managing expectations and able to convey your knowledge in a way that creates understanding across national cultures.

As IT Project Manager, you will have the following areas of responsibility:

  • Be responsible for NTG’s IT projects, including holding follow-up meetings, ensuring project timelines are kept, and securing internal IT resources.
  • Carry out groundwork for the acquisition of new companies, including assessing IT-related opportunities and challenges and familiarizing yourself with any requirements and points of attention.
  • Ensure a good rollout at the companies, including migrating them onto NTG’s IT systems, updating their software, relocating data centers, securing scanning systems, and more.
  • Collaborate internationally with the owners of acquired companies and act as a link between them and NTG, including sharing knowledge and communicating with them in a way that creates understanding and local support within the given company.
  • Define the direction for, and advise the CIO Office on, how NTG runs projects, in terms of processes, procedures, and project tools, and continuously optimize these processes.
