About the Enterprise Transformation Department

You will join the Enterprise Transformation department, an integral part of Global IT. In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Transformation. Global IT’s mission is to enable and develop the business through technological innovation to ensure smooth supply chains in a changing world. With 2,300 employees worldwide, Global IT operates with high integrity and ambition to deliver the best services and products for both colleagues and customers. Enterprise Transformation consists of more than 180 colleagues globally and focuses on helping DSV’s business and IT colleagues create more value through digital initiatives.

Position and Responsibilities

As the Technical Director of Data Engineering & Data Platform, you will be responsible for a high-profile, cross-functional, and complex project focused on constructing and establishing a global distributed data platform. This enables more effective utilization of data for DSV in the future. You will lead approximately 30 FTEs across 4-5 teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and other technical specialists. Your role will involve data engineering, data modeling, and overseeing the data platform project, providing oversight and exercising exceptional stakeholder management with C-level executives and specialists. Additionally, you will develop and execute the data engineering strategy in line with business goals and evaluate, implement, and optimize data engineering technologies. You will also design and maintain robust data architectures to support business analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives, as well as monitor the development and maintenance of effective data integration processes.

To succeed in these responsibilities, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including enterprise data management, development, analytics, and IT, to align the data engineering efforts with the organization’s goals. Your experience in data engineering will play a crucial role in developing the organization’s complex data landscape. You will work in an environment that relies on document-based data modeling, containerization, object-oriented programming, ETL processes, and technologies such as SQL/NoSQL, Java, C#, Scala, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
