About the Traffic and Mobility Team
As a strategic traffic planner, you will be part of the Traffic and Mobility Team within the Traffic and Urban Space unit. The team plays a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and implementing traffic and urban space initiatives. Close collaboration with other municipal departments, urban planners, local associations, and private organizations is key to creating a holistic and sustainable approach to urban development and traffic management. The department consists of interdisciplinary teams, including traffic planners, engineers, landscape architects, and architects. They emphasize employee development and well-being, offering a professional, social, and interdisciplinary environment that focuses on collaboration and growth.
Strategic Traffic Planner
As a strategic traffic planner at Frederiksberg Municipality’s Traffic and Urban Space unit, you play a central role in strategic traffic planning and the execution of traffic and infrastructure projects. Your function is crucial in creating an attractive, safe, and sustainable city where mobility and green transportation methods are prioritized. You will be responsible for a wide range of traffic-related projects, including the speed plan, accident statistics, police collaboration, and the development of public transport. Your role also includes planning, assessment, and development of infrastructure for roads, bike paths, and urban spaces. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, including stakeholder involvement, political approval, execution, and implementation. Your tasks also involve coordination, both internally and externally, as well as handling ad-hoc traffic-related tasks. They expect you to have a structured approach to project management and value interdisciplinary collaboration and relationships.
Responsibilities as a Strategic Traffic Planner
Your responsibilities include:
- Implementation and follow-up on the speed plan
- Preparation and follow-up on accident statistics and annual accident reports
- Development and planning of collaboration with the police
- Contribution to the strategic planning of metro and bus services
- Traffic planning and assessments
- General authority processing and dialogue with the police
- Handling citizen inquiries regarding traffic conditions
- Preparation of committee cases and draft responses for the mayor and committee chairman
