Software Developer – Cloud Team

Makin is looking for a Software Developer to join the Cloud Team and contribute to the development of Makin’ cloud platform. The platform plays a central role in connecting advanced hardware in the field with cloud-based services and applications used by customers internationally.

The role is suited for a backend-oriented software developer who enjoys working with complex systems, modern cloud architecture, and high-quality code in a technology-driven environment.

About the role

As a Software Developer in the Cloud Team, you will work with the development, maintenance, and modernization of cloud-based services that support Makin’s machine control solutions. The role has a strong backend focus and involves working with distributed systems, integrations, and data processing.

Development is primarily done in C# using a modern, service-based architecture with technologies such as Kafka, Protobuf, gRPC, and DevOps practices. The team is also transitioning from an existing C++-based solution to newer C# services, making it important to be comfortable navigating and understanding C++ code.

About the team

The Cloud Team is responsible for the development and operation of the Makin’ Cloud platform. The team works closely with tablet, hardware, and other development teams to ensure stable, scalable, and reliable solutions.

The working environment is agile and collaborative, with a strong focus on knowledge sharing, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cloud-based backend services
• Design and implement new services in a service-oriented architecture
• Ensure high code quality through testing and code reviews
• Estimate and define development tasks
• Participate in testing, quality assurance, and deployment
• Maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate closely with cloud, tablet, and hardware teams

Your profile

Makin is looking for a software developer with strong technical skills and a structured approach to development.

It is expected that you have:

• Experience with backend development in cloud environments, preferably using C#
• Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Protobuf, gRPC, and DevOps
• Ability to work with and understand complex C++ codebases
• Experience with testing and software development best practices
• A proactive and responsible approach to your work
• Professional proficiency in English

A formal educational background is less important than relevant technical experience.
