The Department

In the Payments/Clearing Engineering department there are over 60 employees divided into agile feature teams.

In this department, they are building a cloud-based, state-of-the-art web3 infrastructure in close collaboration with their customers to complement our high-volume payment system. Banking Circle’s customers are both tech-savvy payment service providers and large-scale financial corporations.

You will join a small team of four backend developers operating using agile principles in an informal structure and report to the Engineering Team Lead in our FX and Platform Excellence Engineering department.

The Position

Specifically, the team is building components and services in order to facilitate transactions between traditional currencies and stablecoins in both directions. They are also offering custody solutions on various blockchains, which means that they are developing supporting infrastructure relating to issuance, transaction monitoring and much more, in pursuit of a holistic product suite built around web3/blockchain technology.

This is a greenfield project, where event sourcing and microservices architecture are used. As some integration is required to existing components, Banking Circle pride themselves on taking ownership of their flow and adjusting components also outside of their own realm wherever necessary in close cooperation with their other development teams.

You will have ownership of the entire development process, and work with the mantra: “You build it – You own it”, ensuring that you can fully define and influence your work.

As a person you are detail-oriented and proactive and not afraid of a learning curve. You should also have a keen interest in blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Furthermore, you are expected to be a dependable and knowledge-sharing team player that cooperates well at all levels of an organization. As Banking Circle is an international company it’s a requirement, that you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

To be the right candidate we expect you to have a demonstrated capability from a Senior Software Developer role where you have gained 5+ years of experience within C# and .NET. Additionally, experience, knowledge, or an interest for FX/Blockchain technology is seen as an advantage.

Furthermore, you:

Have solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Are able to write testable and scalable code.
Can take ownership of your own code from idea to post-deployment, preferably also a driver type that is a self-starter.
Have a keen interest on learning new technologies and likes to be challenged (steep learning curve)
