Senior ERP Engineer
Are you passionate about ERP systems, enterprise architecture, and bridging the gap between IT and finance? Do you want to take ownership of both legacy and modern ERP platforms in a dynamic and regulated industry?
If yes, we are looking for a Senior ERP Engineer on behalf of Pharmacosmos to join their Global IT department.
Pharmacosmos is a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Holbæk, Denmark, with subsidiaries in the USA, UK, Germany, and China. With more than 650 employees worldwide, they continue to grow with an entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to improving health outcomes globally. Their culture is grounded in quality, people-centricity, and innovation.
About the department
Global IT at Pharmacosmos consists of 13 dedicated professionals, with seven based in Holbæk. The department is organized into four areas: Helpdesk, Security, Application & Operation, and PMO. You will be part of the Application & Operation team, working closely with skilled colleagues who share a drive for high-quality IT solutions.
Global IT is undergoing a transformation from traditional IT operations towards a strategic business enabler, and this role plays a key part in that journey. You can expect a supportive organization that values balance, respect, and the well-being of its employees, in which you will collaborate closely with skilled and motivated colleagues eager to learn and grow together and seize the opportunity to contribute to strategic IT initiatives.
About the job
As the new Senior ERP Engineer, you will take the technical lead on Pharmacosmos’ ERP platforms – both the current Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and the new cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 system.
You will act as the bridge between the finance function and technical consultants, taking ownership of ERP operations and development. While external partners assist with the daily technical maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing the system landscape, ensuring stable operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
You will:
- Be the technical owner of the AX 2012 platform and play a key role in the ongoing Dynamics 365 implementation project.
- Collaborate closely with finance to understand and translate business needs into system requirements and technical solutions.
- Coordinate with external consultants and partners to ensure quality in configuration, operations, and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to design decisions and solution architecture across finance-related IT systems, including expense management and supporting applications.
- Support the transition from AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 and ensure data, processes, and technical setup are effectively migrated.
- Maintain oversight of change requests, system performance, and issue resolution.
About you
You bring deep ERP experience and enjoy working across both technical and functional domains. You are not afraid to dive into details but also understand the broader architecture and stakeholder needs.
To succeed in this role, you bring:
- 5–10 years of experience working with Microsoft ERP systems – including AX 2012 and preferably Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Knowledge of finance processes and how they are supported in ERP systems (e.g., procure-to-pay, accounts payable).
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks and ensure proper execution through partners or internally.
- Experience working with or coordinating external ERP consultants.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Written and verbal English skills (Danish is a plus, but not a requirement).
Additionally, you thrive in a regulated environment and have experience with GxP or other compliance-relevant ERP use cases. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and take ownership. You thrive in the balance of detail and big picture, being hands-on when needed, while also keeping strategic direction in mind.
It is a plus if you have:
- Experience from a company within the regulated industry, e.g., pharmaceutical, life science, biotech, food & beverage, finance.
- Background as an ERP consultant and now looking to take ownership of a platform long-term.
Pharmacosmos offers
- A role with great ownership and responsibility in a company where IT plays a strategic role.
- The opportunity to shape and lead the ERP journey from legacy to cloud.
- A people-centric and flexible working environment that values your development and well-being.
- A collaborative IT team with ambitious and supportive colleagues.
- An attractive and competitive compensation package.
