People Leader for Scrum Masters in R&ED IT

The position
As our new People Leader, you will be developing our Scrum Masters. You will support the agile transformation by coaching the employees, ensuring the long-term strategic competence needs of the area and support the development and growth of the individual career paths. On top you will serve as IT Business Owner, i.e. the senior owner of IT products delivered by one or several teams involving R&ED IT.
You will be part of the continuous development of some of the bigger programs in R&ED, shaping the agile delivery method and thereby directly influence how they will deliver value to R&ED including the support of the digitalization journey.
In the role as People Leader in an agile context, your key responsibilities will include:
- Attraction, onboarding and hiring – building Agile, personal and professional competencies
- People development and motivation including coaching & mentoring
- Reward- and performance management and facilitate cross-organizational knowledge sharing
- FTE Budgeting and support transformation initiatives
- Close collaboration with stakeholders and Agile teams, and managing expectations to ensure flow
- Overseeing the projects that Scrum Masters are driving and responsible at events, such as PI planning, System Demo etc.
As a People Leader you will report to head of Sites and Agile Execution Vice President in R&ED IT and work closely with stakeholders across the organization.
About the department
Research & Early Development IT is anchored within the Data, Digital & IT (DD&IT) organization and has approx. 120 employees based in Denmark and India. The strategic objective of the unit is to partner globally with R&ED to achieve its scientific aspirations. In addition, we want to be an engaging workplace for talented people who thrive on technology to drive world class science.
We apply agile methods when we deliver digital and IT solutions. Whether this is on programme level, on project- or team level. Our Scrum Masters play a significant role in our delivery and execution, as cultural ambassadors and as servant leaders in the delivery teams where value creation takes place.
Your future department is newly established and consists of talented Scrum Masters leading delivery teams across the value chain of R&ED. The team atmosphere is informal and friendly, and consists of ambitious, curious and skilled IT Scrum Masters that brings a blend of agile expertise combined with curiosity and interest for the scientific research domain we are part of. As the People Leader you will be supporting the development and growth of 10-15 Scrum Masters and drive the maturation of the agile practice. On top you will be IT Business Owner on a selected set of IT initiatives.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we expect you to ideally hold a master’s degree within science or equivalent in a relevant field e.g. Engineering, Natural Science or Computer Science. It is preferred that you have 3+ years of leadership experience from a similar role. You are SAFe certified and/or have practical experience of using Agile methodologies. Fluency in English is essential in this role. Insight into or curiosity for drug discovery processes would also be advantageous.
Agile skills and IT experience should include:
- Advanced knowledge and coaching skills on how to continuously evolve an organizational Agile mindset
- Experience in communication and safeguarding of the Agile principles and practices
- Experience from IT implementation projects levering one or several methodologies like agile or waterfall
