Novafos is seeking a Department Manager for the project team
Novafos is seeking a dedicated department manager with expertise in leading a project team and managing a portfolio of construction projects. You will be the personnel manager for one of our project teams, consisting of about 15 employees. The team is part of our Wastewater Project Department, which consists of four project teams in total.
Your role
As the department manager for our project team, you will have a unique opportunity to be part of Denmark’s second-largest utility provider. You will be part of a larger planning and project department with 130 employees within the utility sector, where you and your team will work closely with other project teams and department managers, as well as the operations team.

Therefore, you should be motivated to work on initiatives that reduce our environmental footprint. This includes pioneering innovative solutions, pilot projects, and flagship initiatives that contribute to the green transition.
Novafos’ annual construction budget is approximately DKK 800 million, covering all construction projects within the wastewater area. These projects include rainwater management, green climate solutions, infrastructure projects, sewer separation, and traditional renovation projects.
With your comprehensive overview, you will be responsible for ensuring proper management, progress, and allocation of the right project managers for ongoing and new projects. You will support close collaboration with planning and operations areas within Novafos to incorporate relevant experience. As part of Novafos’ management team, you will initiate new projects that aim to develop both the organization and the employees. You will help shape Novafos’ culture in close collaboration with your team.

Your responsibilities
- Lead your employees – project managers and specialists.
- Focus on team well-being and development.
- Manage the team’s project portfolio.
- Oversee budgets and prioritize resources.
- Coordinate projects across the organization.
- Draft and follow up on investment agreements in collaboration with the rest of the management team.
Your skills
- You are a qualified engineer or have an equivalent technical education with experience in construction and utility engineering or building projects.
- You have at least five years of experience in personnel management.
- You have experience managing, planning, and executing construction projects.
- You have experience managing a project portfolio and planning resources for project staffing.
- You are accustomed to working on large cross-disciplinary projects with other professional areas.
- You are experienced in working with consultants and contractors on project planning, tendering, and project execution.

Your workplace will be at our headquarters at Blokken 9 in Birkerød. Salary will follow the current KL collective agreement and your qualifications.
