Cloud Engineer

Berlinske Media / Full time

Berlingske Media

Berlingske Media’s history dates back more than 274 years, and today it is Denmark’s largest digital media house. They are home to five of the country’s most trusted media outlets: Berlingske, B.T., Weekendavisen, Euroinvestor, and 24syv. Their goal is to deliver relevant, engaging content across all their platforms and maintain their role as a free and responsible press. They are in the midst of an exciting digital transformation, where their upcoming platform will be the centerpiece of their visionary development.
Berlingske Media consists of around 700 dedicated employees, and their organization is characterized by a flat hierarchy, high seniority, and strong cohesion, valuing social events within the company. Berlingske Media operates on the “you build it, you run it” model, where each application team is responsible for the operation of their own applications. This requires a robust cloud platform that makes it easy to deploy, scale, and monitor containerized applications.

Cloud Engineer

Berlingske Media is seeking a committed Cloud Engineer who will play a central role in their Cloud Ops team. You will be responsible for the overall AWS-based cloud infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to help create the foundation that enables Berlingske Media sites to deliver maximum value to their users. You will be part of their ambitious project where they are transforming sites using the latest technologies such as Node and React.

Your responsibilities as a Cloud Engineer include:

  • Building AWS cloud platform: You will help build an AWS cloud platform that ensures simple deployment and scalable applications and websites.
  • Standardizing deployment patterns: By developing standard modules, you will minimize friction in deploying and monitoring applications.
  • Onboarding application teams: You will assist and onboard their application teams onto the cloud platform to ensure stable and scalable infrastructure for their applications.
  • Continuous improvements: You will work on continuous improvements of their cloud infrastructure to make the most of AWS.
  • Building DevOps Guardrails: You will help standardize deployment patterns, database usage, and develop tools and modules to assist developers in following these standards.
  • Monitoring and observability: You will contribute to standardizing monitoring and observability to quickly identify and resolve operational issues.

Berlingske Media’s IT setup is fully cloud-based, so there is no on-premise work involved in your day-to-day activities. This gives you a unique opportunity to influence how Berlingske Media benefits most from AWS.
If you have expertise in cloud infrastructure and want to be a key player in their exciting digital transformation project, then this is the job for you.
