The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479 and consists of 6 faculties, 36 institutions, and more than 200 research centres. The university has a total of 9,763 employees and 9 Nobel laureates affiliated with it.

Physically, the University of Copenhagen is divided into 4 campus areas in Copenhagen as well as 10 museums and research gardens – including the Zoological Museum, Botanical Garden, Medical Museum, and the Øresund Aquarium.

Campus Construction

You will become part of the Campus Construction section (CB), which is the university’s construction management unit. CB consists of a total of four groups and is led by the building manager.

The unit comprises 35-40 dedicated employees, primarily with heavy construction backgrounds. You will be responsible for your own portfolio of projects, primarily collaborating with the operations unit and framework consultants.

The construction projects primarily involve maintenance and renovation cases, ranging from small projects to some large projects of up to approximately DKK 60-70 million. Internal sparring is also emphasised, with close collaboration with colleagues in the section involved in the commissioning of the university’s major construction projects such as the Niels Bohr Building and the Natural History Museum of Denmark.

Technical Project Manager

As a Technical Project Manager at Campus Construction, you will have a unique opportunity to assist in managing a large portfolio of maintenance and construction projects in the architectural sector, focusing on delivering coherent, energy-efficient solutions for various types of installation projects.

In this role, you will need to manage and facilitate collaboration between many types of people with different professional backgrounds in a complex and busy everyday life. Your strength as a project manager lies in your solid experience within the construction industry, enabling you to view construction projects from both the users’ and operations’ perspectives.

You will work with a broad and exciting project portfolio consisting of both large and small projects, primarily focusing on technical installations and other faculty requests such as the introduction of electrical, plumbing, and other systems for construction projects.

In the role of Technical Project Manager, it is preferred that you are a team player who can keep a cool head and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the right quality. You also exhibit commitment and independence in your work, with a natural drive and willingness to take the lead and make decisions, consulting engineers and other professionals to find the right solution.
