In the role of team leader, you will get a unique opportunity to become part of Denmark’s second-largest utility company. You will help strengthen the Planning area within Hydraulics and thereby become part of one of the largest planning departments found within the utilities sector. The projects to be carried out have both direct and indirect significance for many customers and stakeholders in the municipalities in question.
As team leader, you will also become part of Novafos’ management team. You will help shape Novafos’ new shared culture in a direction where all employees in the organization are involved. The utility continuously works with its value set PEASE (Proactive, Engaged, Accountable, Collaborative, Effective). As the person responsible for Treatment & Hydraulics, you will report to Novafos’ department head for Planning, Treatment & Drainage, Rikke Nikolajsen.
You will be responsible for 11 employees working on planning tasks within hydraulic modeling. You can expect your focus to be split 50% on management and 50% on professional/technical work.
You will therefore find it exciting to lead a team where employees’ expertise covers both wastewater treatment plants and hydraulic modeling. All team members are highly skilled professionally and work independently on their tasks. Your understanding of the subject matter means you are good at putting things into perspective and setting direction, so that employees also show interest in working toward the overall goal. Your professional overview also means you naturally act as a sparring partner for your employees when needed.
In addition, you thrive with the classic disciplines of a team leader, such as ensuring proper progress on projects and allocating the right resources to ongoing and new projects. For ongoing projects, you are also responsible for ensuring they are carried out in line with agreed guidelines regarding budget, time, and quality. You are also used to engaging in dialogue about any challenges that may arise during a project with the utility’s partners, whether consultants or municipalities. The team also has several large development projects underway.
Together with the rest of the management team, you will also help prepare and continuously report on investment agreements for upcoming projects for the utility’s 9 owner municipalities. You will help ensure that Novafos reaches its goal of a 20% reduction in operating costs by the end of 2022, as well as future efficiency requirements.
You thrive in a leadership role and already have solid experience leading a department/team or a project team. You know how to bring a team together and create motivation and shared commitment. Your talent for leadership also means you can guide your employees to embrace both new colleagues and new ways of collaborating. As a leader, you set the direction while involving your employees in working toward new goals. You easily earn respect and are able to motivate your employees to take ownership and share knowledge, both on familiar and new tasks.
You describe your own working style as structured and focused. Collaborating both internally and externally comes naturally to you. You are open to change and thrive on setting new frameworks. You take a curious approach to challenges and are good at leaving your mark on things. You keep the goal in sight, both when it comes to employees’ well-being and development, and when it comes to planning and managing the team in terms of professional focus, projects, and the team’s continued development.
