The Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (UFST) is part of the Ministry of Taxation group, which collaborates with other units within the group. UFST has around 1,700 employees and offices in Copenhagen, Middelfart, and Aalborg. UFST develops, operates, and maintains new and existing IT systems so that they are stable, secure, and cost-effective. It places great emphasis on creating solutions that are data- and analysis-driven, that create value for the Danish Tax Administration, and that support taxes and duties being paid correctly and on time. UFST is responsible for driving IT development projects and for ensuring a transparent basis for IT prioritization across the Danish Tax Administration, just as it is the agency’s task to modernize, reduce technical debt, and make optimal use of the market. At UFST, employees are engaged and professionally competent. They work professionally in a strong professional community across the agency and the Tax Administration to succeed in their socially critical task. They place emphasis on execution capability and believe that a high professional level is the starting point for thinking anew, finding solutions, and delivering high-quality results that ensure modern and stable solutions.

The Department

As Team and Subject Coordinator, you will become part of the Annual Tax Assessment office, which consists of three teams comprising a total of 24 employees. The office ensures that the annual tax assessments are operationally stable, including managing application operations and further development of a range of IT systems, primarily handled by their suppliers, which support personal taxation in Denmark. These are large, rock-solid systems that must nonetheless be part of an ongoing modernization of the tax administration’s core systems, so there is certainly room for learning and development.

In this role, you will be responsible for the Data Presentation team, which consists of 8 employees who work with various types of systems. The team works on application operations, which is a central area of the Danish Tax Administration. Generally, this involves working with large and complex systems, which is why the team members are characterized by deep technical knowledge and understanding. In addition, there is a strong focus on collaboration and team spirit in the team and the office, which is why staff events are also prioritized. As Team and Subject Coordinator, you will also become part of the office management, which discusses daily operations and challenges, as well as the strategic development of the office, at management meetings.

The Position

As Team and Subject Coordinator, you will have an independent, leading role in which, together with the head of the Annual Tax Assessment office, you will be responsible for application operations and for ensuring that your professional area supports the strategic development of the Annual Tax Assessment. More specifically, you will be responsible for ensuring a well-functioning team that solves its tasks in a good and structured manner in close collaboration with the Danish Tax Agency and our external supplier. You will also drive several simultaneous activities and both larger and smaller tasks, where classic project management disciplines come into play. Your responsibilities include daily coordination, follow-up, and sparring, as well as participating in planning and carrying out the team’s tasks.

As Team and Subject Coordinator, you will have a facilitating role in ensuring a good transition from development to application operations, as well as ensuring that your team members are well equipped for the task. The professional knowledge is largely already in place within the team, which is why the focus of this role will be on leadership, coordination, and facilitation efforts. In the role, you will also act as a professional sparring partner for the team, so it is important that you have experience with technically complex systems, as well as a desire to familiarize yourself with new, complex subject areas. However, an interest in leadership is also important, as you will help ensure the team’s day-to-day well-being. In this context, you will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership toolkit along the way.

Areas of Responsibility

As Team and Subject Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Translating the Annual Tax Assessment’s strategies into concrete goals for your team and reporting on implementation progress
  • Engaging in dialogue with the suppliers
  • Coordinating the team’s tasks, maintaining an overview, and delivering relevant status updates
  • Ensuring knowledge sharing and making the team’s results visible
  • Staying continuously updated on developments in the subject area
  • Providing professional feedback to your team members

Requirements

For this position, it is essential that you have:

  • 5+ years of professional experience from a similar role, such as Team and Subject Coordinator, Team Lead, or Technical Project Manager, from one or more larger, complex organizations
  • Substantial technical experience with application operations and further development tasks
  • A good understanding of finance, including budget preparation
  • Knowledge of the project management discipline
  • Knowledge of best practices within various IT development methods, particularly agile methods

In addition, it is an advantage if you have experience with supplier negotiations, supplier collaboration, contract preparation, or similar.
