System Architect for Motor
The Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (Udviklings- og Forenklingsstyrelsen, UFST) is part of the Danish Ministry of Taxation’s group of agencies and collaborates closely with the other agencies in the group. UFST has around 2,000 employees and offices in Copenhagen, Middelfart, and Aalborg.
The Danish Tax Administration, an authority under the Ministry of Taxation, is undergoing a historic transformation of its core IT systems across the group’s many business areas. UFST is therefore growing and needs employees who can strengthen internal knowledge of and insight into the systems portfolio, which is both operated and further developed in collaboration with a range of external suppliers.
Department: Motor Systems and ESDH
You will become part of the Motor Systems and ESDH office, which is responsible for operating outsourced IT systems, including records management (ESDH) systems, motor vehicle systems, and case management systems.
The office’s purpose is to ensure stable operations and to carry out maintenance and further development of the IT systems. You will help carry this task together with 25 dedicated colleagues in the office. The office is characterised by an informal, close-knit community where collaboration and job satisfaction are highly valued.
More specifically, you will join an experienced Motor team, which today consists of 7 employees (system owners, project managers, and a team coordinator). The team supports registration and tax calculation for vehicles in Denmark and holds information on more than 4 million registered vehicles. The system exchanges information with a number of external systems and stakeholders, including insurance companies, authorities, and private actors.
The position as System Architect for Motor
UFST wants to strengthen its internal knowledge and competencies on the Digital Motor Register platform (a complex system built in Java that exists only at UFST), to be able to play a greater role in development and modernisation work, in particular supporting and advising the business owner, the Danish Motor Vehicle Agency.
In this newly created role as System Architect for Motor, you will focus on helping build knowledge and competencies and on helping set the direction in relation to the system supplier. You will take part in both operations and further development, help create an overview, and build new functionality in the Digital Motor Register — for example, how UFST can improve the register in relation to data changes and how to most efficiently automate it with WorkZone. You will help bring knowledge to the table and be involved in cross-organisational solutions, taking part in deciding how UFST can drive further efficiency, digitalisation, and automation within this area.
Your qualifications include:
- Minimum five years of experience as an architect
- Translating business needs into system-specific solutions
- Setting up and assessing different solution scenarios in concrete business contexts
- Communicating system solution scenarios to business process owners, system owners, and the supplier
- Experience with system and application development
- Ability to get to grips with complex systems and business areas
