As a project manager working primarily on treatment plant projects, you get a unique opportunity to become part of Denmark’s second-largest utility.

You will also become part of one of the largest project departments within the utility sector, which over the coming years will continue to deliver in the order of 1,400 larger and smaller projects — projects that will have both direct and indirect significance for many customers and stakeholders in the relevant municipalities.

As Novafos has a total of 18 treatment plants, you will be responsible for both large and smaller projects. In particular, you will take part in a comprehensive project across our 3 treatment plants with digester tanks, where the plants are to be optimised with regard to methane gas emissions. This project also includes several related projects to make better use of the methane gas produced, for both electricity and heat.

In addition, you will work on other projects focused on rebuilding or maintaining treatment plants, as well as pumping station projects.

As project manager, you will also be responsible for procuring the right equipment for the plants and ensuring good collaboration with production and operations around implementing this equipment.

Collaboration

Good collaboration with operations around changes or rebuilding at the plants is a high priority. It is therefore important that you enjoy and are interested in building relationships with the operations staff to ensure the best possible support and interaction. You will thrive on and be motivated by visiting the plants to ensure good collaboration on the projects to be carried out at the various plants, including projects that may require, for example, shutting down a treatment plant.

In addition to good collaboration with operations, you are also responsible for collaboration with suppliers, contractors and consultants on your projects.

Requirements

You are already an experienced project manager, or you want to continue developing as one. You ideally have good knowledge of the utility sector, particularly with competencies built up within treatment plants. You thrive on projects that can be extensive, but also work well with a mix of large and small projects.

Thanks to your expertise, you are used to working very independently on your projects. You naturally ensure the right progress on your projects and take responsibility for projects being carried out according to agreed guidelines for budget, time and quality.

You describe your own working style as structured and focused. You are flexible and adaptable. You have a good overview and keep track of the right details in your projects. You thrive on collaboration spanning colleagues in Project 1, Project 2 and Project 3 as well as across the organisation and externally, whether with citizens, authorities, consultants or contractors.
