Project Manager for Water Resource Center – Roskilde Fjord
At Novafos, we have ambitions to be a sustainable utility company, aiming to be at the forefront when it comes to developing innovative, green, and sustainable solutions that make a difference in daily life and the environment. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated project manager who will be one of two project managers working together to realise Novafos’ vision of establishing a new, efficient purification structure. This structure involves the establishment of two new central modern purification plants – water resource centres – replacing 17 of the current 18 purification plants. You will be responsible for the western purification plant (Roskilde Fjord), while the other project manager will be responsible for the eastern purification plant (Øresund).
Sustainable wastewater treatment
The purpose of the “Water Resource Center Roskilde Fjord” project is to establish a common purification structure in the Roskilde Fjord catchment area. The municipalities and Novafos aim to establish a Water Resource Center, which will replace nine existing purification plants and, in the future, treat wastewater from citizens and businesses in Frederikssund, Egedal, Ballerup, and parts of Furesø and Herlev Municipality. The modern and energy-producing water resource centre aims to ensure the sustainable utilisation of the resources in wastewater and prepare the municipalities for future stricter requirements for purification and green transition.
Your new job as a project manager
As a project manager, you will be responsible for leading the “Water Resource Center Roskilde Fjord” project, which is currently in an early phase and is expected to enter the design phase with consultant procurement in early 2025. This phase will also include environmental impact assessment from 2025-2027. It is a complex project with many sub-projects and stakeholders.
Your responsibilities as a project manager include, among other things, leading the internal project organisation, managing consultants, planning and scheduling, stakeholder management, and preparing and facilitating steering group meetings. You will ensure progress in both design and environmental impact assessment activities through visible and collaborative project leadership.
There is extensive collaboration between the two project managers (Roskilde Fjord and Øresund), and the project organisation is shared. The projects are anchored in Team Plan Purification, and project management is carried out in close collaboration with the Team Leader for Plan Purification and the Wastewater Director.
Team Plan Purification is one of six teams in the Plan Purification & Drainage department, which currently has 80 employees. The team of seven colleagues values a good working atmosphere with an informal tone, close and trusting collaboration, professional sparring, and engagement. In addition to implementing the new purification structure, the team also works to ensure the stable operation of the current 18 purification plants and to reduce environmental impact through optimisation and control projects until the two water resource centres are operational.
