As an experienced Product Manager, you will have a key role in the department, as you help set the direction and ensure effective DevOps support for some of the most important IT systems. You will take ownership of the department’s core services and be responsible for establishing the product vision and high-level product roadmap in close collaboration with the office’s product owners and our most important internal customers, as well as ensuring consistency across the office’s development teams. You will act as the professional lead for the three product owners and two solution architects in the department. The tech stack includes, among other things, GitHub Enterprise, Artifactory, Jenkins, Rancher, Elastic, and Jira/Confluence for planning and task management.

In our daily work, we collaborate closely with both infrastructure departments and UFST’s development projects, where you will be involved from the coding phase through to operations. You can look forward to varied tasks, along with good opportunities for learning and skills development.

Your tasks will also include the following:

• Developing and maintaining the DevOps department’s strategy and ensuring it aligns with customer needs
• Breaking down the strategy into roadmaps (focused on customer value) in collaboration with the department’s customers
• Translating strategy and roadmaps into concrete delivery goals across the entire department and for individual teams, together with the department’s product owners
• Assessing UFST’s short-term and long-term needs for DevOps support, in terms of competencies, processes, practices, and tooling

Requirements

The candidate has a relevant educational background in IT or equivalent relevant work experience.

You are expected to have at least 3 years of experience from a similar position, for example as a product owner. In addition, the candidate must, as a minimum:

• Be business-oriented, including understanding and being able to assess customer needs and challenges
• Have a good understanding of CI/CD processes and DevOps principles
• Have experience with both development and operations in larger organizations, preferably in the public sector
• Have experience with professional leadership of smaller teams
• Have knowledge and understanding of GitHub Enterprise, Artifactory, Jenkins, Rancher, Elastic, and Jira/Confluence
• Have a flair for coaching product owners
• Have good communication skills – both written and verbal
• Be good at handling multiple tasks simultaneously and taking ownership

It is an advantage if you:

• Have a technical background and know the processes in IT development
• Have experience as a product manager
• Have knowledge of SAFe
• Enjoy presenting to both small and large audiences
