With this role, you join DD&IT – the digital, data, and IT partner to all parts of the company. You will join 2,100+ colleagues worldwide, driving tasks with a twist of digital, data, and IT.

The position is anchored in the Hybrid Cloud Engineering department within DD&IT, which enables and supports the digital transformation of the global research organisation by offering modern hybrid cloud technology platforms through agile ways of working.

On a daily basis, you will be part of the Tech Ops team, which is responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. The team consists of 10 highly competent colleagues within cloud engineering, system management, and Oracle database administration, and takes pride in supporting researchers and scientists with the best technology offerings.

The scientific users are situated globally, so you will be working in an international environment with colleagues around the globe.

What you will be doing

As a Cloud Engineer, you will help continue the cloud journey by building end-to-end digital solutions leveraging cloud capabilities and automated CI/CD pipelines. You will also be responsible for defining, building, operating, and maintaining these technology solutions. In this role, you will have a significant impact on how the team operates, as you will help define and drive best practices across the organisation.

The skills we hope to see

  • A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or another relevant field
  • 3 years of work experience in cloud, software development, or IT infrastructure
  • Strong technical skills in IT infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, scripting, and automation
  • Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
  • AWS technology stack
  • Infrastructure as code

You might even know some or all of the following technologies:

  • Serverless computing, network, security, and storage solutions
  • Python, PowerShell, Bash, and TypeScript
  • Authentication and API management tools
