About the position as M365 Security Engineer

Frederiksberg Municipality is looking for 1-2 skilled candidates for their newly established team, Digital Workplace, which will develop their Microsoft 365 environment and Azure Cloud tenant. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, good communication skills, and a focus on data security within a large collaboration platform.

You will become a part of the Digital Workplace team, which is tasked with delivering a smooth, modern, and efficient IT workplace. The vision is to ensure that IT supports employees’ work instead of being a challenge. This includes devices such as PCs, tablets, and phones, as well as communication platforms like Outlook, Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint. The team actively works with the Microsoft 365 platform to create a user-friendly, secure workplace.

The role as Microsoft 365 Security Engineer involves the following responsibilities

• Establish and implement security guidelines for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange.
• Administer and configure Azure AD, including user and group management, authentication and authorization, as well as Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Work with security and compliance in Microsoft 365, including data encryption, multi-factor authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
• Monitor the Microsoft 365 environment, investigate security alerts, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Manage and optimize license expenses in collaboration with the business.
• Use PowerShell for task automation and efficient administration of Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
• Collaborate with the IT department and users, and convey technical information clearly and comprehensibly.
• Administer and maintain the growing Azure Cloud tenant, including resource management and security settings.

In this role, the short-term goal is to strengthen governance and upgrade Microsoft 365. The long-term goals include responsibility for the ongoing operation and development of the M365 environment with a focus on ensuring a stable, innovative, and secure digital infrastructure for Frederiksberg Municipality, where Cloud solutions will be central.

Expectations for M365 Security Engineer

Frederiksberg Municipality is looking for a qualified employee who prioritizes users’ needs as crucial when working on the development and protection of IT solutions. They are looking for a colleague willing to adapt to changing conditions and who demonstrates a deep interest in the Microsoft platform, governance principles, and information security.

In addition, it is expected that you:

• Have a solid technical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure services, and licenses.
• Have experience with Azure AD administration and configuration.
• Have experience with PowerShell or equivalent for automation and service administration.
• Have strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as being proactive in setting direction and finding solutions to problems.
• Desire and ability to continuously update yourself on new features and best practices within the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem.
• Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with qualifications and the applicable collective agreement. You will become a part of the IT department under Analysis, Strategy, Digitalization, and IT (ASDI). You will report to the manager of the Server, Network, and Integrations team. Expected start date is as soon as possible.
