Department

The department Software Engineering is a part of the R&D organization with more than 160 colleagues, and it is responsible for specification, design, implementation and testing of software for GN Audio’s products. Doing so, they contribute to the goal of leading major technology shifts within intelligent audio solutions.

You will be a part of the Software Engineering department, but you will have day to day work in our Experience department, which is a cross functional team of UX designers, PO’s and others who are needed in the initial developing process. The departments job is to define new products as an internal consultant. It is a fairly new department and therefore you will take part in shaping the team and processes.

When joining the Software Engineering team, you will witness initial ideas become intelligent solutions that let you hear more, do more and be more than ever thought possible. Often the idea is based on a problem or a need from the customer, but sometimes the idea shapes based on the discovery of a new or different technology.

Position

Jabra need’s you to be creative and see opportunities, where other see problems. You will be operating in a dynamic environment ensuring the best experiences for the users of Jabra products. You will not only have the opportunity to develop your programming skills, but also to voice your opinions.

Your responsibility will be to take the software point of view in a cross functional team looking at new Jabra products. You will take part in building prototypes and software mock-ups of the ideas and software opportunities that you investigate. These prototypes will be an important tool in moving the product from idea to production.

You will take part in investigations and testing of new possibilities for future Jabra products. In addition, you will discover and introduce new technologies to GN Audio and plan, interface and negotiate software deliveries with other team members.

You will also communicate and exchange knowledge with other GN departments such as Hardware, Digital Signal Processing, Design and the like to ensure optimal and timely development.

Key Responsibilities

Together with your fellow members of the software team, and in close cooperation with UX and Tech and with the methods from Design Thinking and Customer Centricity, you will take part in investigations and testing of new possibilities for future Jabra products.

In addition to this, you will:

  • Take part in the early stages of development, where you look on technologies from every angle and do mock-ups and prototyping.
  • Discover, and create structure in ideas and information, so you are ready to introduce new technologies to GN Audio
  • Plan, interface and negotiate software deliveries with other team members
  • Communicate and exchange knowledge with other GN departments such as Hardware, Digital Signal Processing, Design and the like to ensure optimal and timely development

Requirements
It is imperative that you:

  • Have knowledge of embedded development, embedded operating systems and microcontrollers
  • A good communicator both written and oral, and used to communicating with many different stakeholders.
  • Good at keeping structure when there is information overload.
  • Have some knowledge within Bluetooth, USB, Networking and/or DECT, though it is not a must
